This lecture is dedicated to concepts and techniques to better integrate planning activities in the supply chain. We will mainly focus on the internal alignment problem – which can presumably be overcome through a well-organized “Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)” process. Based on case studies, research results and multiple examples from industry, we will develop relevant concepts, discuss the most important obstacles that prevent these concepts from being successful, and explore the role of technology for Integrated Supply Chain Planning
