The Global Port Research Alliance (GPRA)
MISI Dr. Ioannis Lagoudis, explains how delighted he that MISI is one of the pioneers behind the newly formed GPRA.
“The Global Port Research Alliance (GPRA) is a collaboration among leading Universities and centers around the world specializing in maritime transportation research. The Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation being acknowledged by the global academic community in the area of maritime logistics and supply chain management and operations has been invited to participate in this initiative along with leading Universities in the world as is Imperial College London (UK), National University Singapore (Singapore), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), The University of Sydney (Australia), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong) and the University of Hamburg (Germany)”.
“The main objective of GPRA is to establish a global research and teaching platform in port operations, maritime and transport logistics by building collaborative arrangements among Alliance members as well as between the Alliance and the industry. MISI aims at playing an active role in this initiative in shaping the research of the future in the maritime transportation domain and leveraging the new knowledge for Malaysia and the wider region”.
Global Port Research Alliance (GPRA)
In response to the global and complex challenges faced by the port sector and the related maritime and logistics industries, the Global Port Research Alliance (GPRA) has been recently formed between seven leading international universities covering four continents. The main objective of GPRA is to establish a global research, education and teaching platform in port operations, maritime and transport logistics by building collaborative arrangements among Alliance members as well as between the Alliance and the industry.
