A New Publication by Dr. Ghosh Describes Product Greening and Pricing Strategies of Firms Under Green Sensitive Consumer Demand and Environmental Regulations

Dr. Ghosh is the lead author of a newly published a book chapter in the Annals of Operations Research. In this publication, he notes that manufacturing firms globally face an increasing consumer demand for environmentally friendly products, along with regulatory changes. This study aim is to find the answer on the economics of greening, which focuses on the impact of product greening costs and Government regulations on single firm and duopoly.

The study finding shows that the regulations serve the requisite objective of forcing firms to provide higher greening levels, but under certain conditions, they may have a limited effect. The key contribution of this study lies in modeling Government regulations and decision making under demand expansion effects while analyzing the resulting decisions of product greening and pricing.
