CSVN Workshop: Improving Smallholders Livelihood Through Sustainability and Nutrient Management

On 7th May 2018, the Center for Sustainable Value Networks(CSVN) at MISI held a workshop at the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation, Shah Alam. The goal of the workshop was to improve smallholder livelihood through sustainability and improved yield. This is aimed by supporting smallholders in the supply chain to develop the necessary capability and capacity enabling the overall yield improvement for smallholders.
The workshop shared the recent baseline survey assessment in Benut area from Johor, Malaysia for independent small holder farmers sourcing to various collection centers by Dr. Asad Ata. The baseline provided an estimate of sustainability gap measured against the P&G sustainability scorecard. Dr. Thomas Oberthür from IPNI lead the discussion around IPNI’s strategies and support to ensure the success of the nutrient management program.
The workshop was in alignment with P&G’s Ambition 2030 Environmental Sustainability goals. It was attended and well received by MNCs, Government Organizations, NGOs and other public and private stakeholders who participated in the event.
