The MSCM Class of 2017 organised a charity outing on 6th November! They visited an NGO (Non-Government Organization) in Klang, about 30 minutes drive from MISI campus. The NGO has been providing food baskets for poor families for the past 15 years. The NGO collects food items from donors, consisting of individuals and companies, and organize the distribution of the food to pre-selected poor families on a monthly basis.

About 150 families are provided with food items such as rice bags, potatoes, canned food, instant noodles, eggs, dried chilly and much more on the first Sunday of the every month. MISI students volunteered for this good cause by helping the NGO in organizing the food baskets for those families. Apart from helping in organizing the food baskets, the students, given their supply chain background, shared some ideas on how the NGO might improve the distribution process and reduce waste. The students were later treated to lunch and given  Certificates of Appreciation for volunteering in this charity drive.
