Program Overview

The MISI and MIT SCALE Network Certificate Short Courses in Supply Chain Management and Procurement is specifically designed and administered by MISI AND MIT SCALE Network to teach the critical skills needed to be successful in this exciting and growing field. In addition to being a standalone certificate demonstrating expertise in the field, participants who complete all of the required courses and the final exam will be qualified for MISI and MIT SCALE Network Competency Certificates in Supply Chain Management and Procurement. All these courses would be offered in Online and In-Class formats.

Individual Short Courses

Our individual programs, taught by MISI faculty team and our allied industry experts, have been designed for supply chain executives worldwide, providing them with relevant and innovative topics, flexible learning options and networking opportunities. These short open courses are ideal for those supply chain leaders facing new challenges, seeking a new role or eager for new and innovative knowledge.

Procurement Courses

Negotiation

Introduction to negotiation in a procurement context (i.e., negotiations between a buyer and a vendor/supplier). The objective is to provide the participant with a structured foundation in the preparation and conduct of effective negotiations.

Total Cost Analysis

The focus is on developing the necessary skills to correctly evaluate total landed costs (TLC) and estimate total costs of ownership (TCO). The course also helps develop an understanding of key cost drivers in procurement.

Supplier Relationship Management

Several key elements of good supplier relationship management (SRM) will be discussed. The objective is to prepare participants to be conversant with SRM and develop capability to frame a SRM program for their suppliers.

Category Management

The participants will be introduced to category management in procurement. Category Management builds on the basics of good procurement practices to help companies generate additional value from their procurement process.

Supply Chain Management Courses

Business Analytics

Business Analytics is about quantitative analysis and predictive modeling towards data-driven competitive strategies. This course covers methodologies and practices that are important for data analytics and discusses their relevance in various functional domains.

Forecasting and Inventory Management

Participants will be introduced to the practice of forecasting and inventory management and develop a broad overview of the various tools used in the industry.

Logistics and Transportation

Draw on real issues in transportation and logistics management that confront companies today. Topics include freight transportation, local routing, transportation procurement, and hub and transhipment strategies.

Strategic Supply Chain Management

Draw on real issues confronting companies today to provide strategic frameworks for undertaking major decisions to increase competitive advantage.

Emerging Trends in Supply Chain Management Courses

Digital Transformation in Supply Chain Management

Focus on how companies have to adapt their supply chain organization (and the skillsets of their supply chain professionals) to truly achieve digital transformation and to benefit from the new technologies and digital opportunities.

Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain Management

Participants will learn about Industry 4.0, its implications for supply chains, and the ways in which companies can take advantage of the capabilities of Industry 4.0.

Supply Chain Finance

Participants in this course will gain a working knowledge about supply chain finance, working capital management, and the ways in which companies can improve their working capital efficiency.

Retail and E-Commerce

Introduces the elements of efficient retail supply chains including key management levers and performance indicators and discusses key supply chain requirements for developing a successful E-Commerce model.

  • Participants who register for more than one course will receive a discount of 10% on additional courses.
  • Participants who complete the 4 courses in Procurement Fundamentals, Supply Chain Management Fundamentals or Emerging Trends in Supply Chain Management and exam are entitled to receive a certification of competency from MISI and the MIT Global SCALE Network.

The courses in this program are best suited for managers and senior managers from manufacturing, logistics, information technology and service industries who are responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategy. Professionals who are looking to develop functional understanding of supply chains or are in existing supply chain roles will benefit from this program.

Participants are expected to have the basic knowledge of the business practices, supply chain management and corporate finance. Managerial and executive experience is beneficial, but not required.

The classes consist of formal lectures, case study discussions, and hands-on exercises. In some courses, e-learning material will be provided to the participants prior to the in-class sessions. The classes will be taught with active learning methodology. Using in class discussions, real life case studies, hands-on exercises, and team activities, participants learn through solving problems and getting rapid feedback from faculty and peers.

The duration of each course will be either 1 or 2 days. There will usually be four class sessions per day, each of 1.5 hours with a 30 minute break between sessions.

The location will be the MISI campus in Shah Alam or Online.

The pricing indicated below includes the teaching fee and all materials that will be used in the class. It also includes lunch and coffee and tea during the session breaks.
One-day Course Price: 1400 MYR per participant
Two-day Course Price: 2800 MYR per participant
Participants who register for more than one course will receive a discount of 10% on additional courses.

A certificate (from MISI and the MIT Global SCALE Network) will be provided upon the successful completion of all the sessions in either a one-day or two-day program.
